When Mediumship and Healing Become Boring
A look at the practical applications of a path and the vastness of skills.
My first decade of development occurred in the UK during a time when your only options were Mediumship, Angels and Reiki or some type of Osho inspired commune.
Even when I was a newbie it felt bleak.
You achieve what they told you to in the groups and you were supposed to be satisfied. ‘Sit down young lady, why is it never enough?’ Because it isn’t. Period. End of.
You learning to have a two way conversation with the ancestors should only ever be the beginning.
You take that skill and then you specialise with the spirits that walk by your side, those spirits that are from one splinter of your whole genetic lineage. It could be the most obscure tribe with an incredibly specific belief system.
More than Reiki
Reiki is for those with a Japanese lineage - that’s it. Dr Usui created it in the early 20th century and the west stole it, and stripped it to ensure it is profitable. After all you can’t sell something complicated.
There is no doubt in my mind that there is serious power in Reiki - but not the whitewashed version still doing the rounds.
The healing field is vast, and your ancestry predates Dr Usui. Working with the spirits who are actually doing the healing (leaves, roots, resins, rocks, animals, the dead) is what you should be aiming for. Healing should be dirty, intimate and make your world brighter.
Not because of the gratitude the ‘healee’ has, but because you are honouring your spirits and your ancestors every time you work with them. They have been ignored for a long long time - you are choosing to build a life with them. You are choosing the right path. They will fill your life with love and purpose if you stay the course.
The lesser known paths/skills/work available, and this is only a tiny snapshot especially if your work with someone linked to time or the void:
- House and land clearing - the dead, supernaturals and energy
- Ongoing protection of a specific location
- Exorcisms or spiritual extraction
- Effecting animals - health, mood, fertility, behaviour
- Healing people - health, mood, fertility, soul retrievals, power work
- Influencing people - decisions, relationships, careers - this can be as big or small as you want. The world is still run by people so whether you are targeting your boss or the King it makes no difference.
- Psychopomping - homes, violent locations, residential schools, war zones
- Justice Work - fighting the oppressors and helping the innocent e.g. stopping abuse, outing corrupt judges, accidents involving rapists
- Doula work - Birth or death - both are incredibly traumatic involving protection, emotional and psychological support, grounding, supportive aides (plants, colours etc)
- Support the Spirits - sometimes there will be spirits or supernaturals who live on your territory who approach you for help.
It all hinges on communicating with the ancestors and realising that it always follows your passions. These are instilled in you, your Spirits train you up and then you fight with them as a team. There is a slot for you to fight in the shades, not just the physical.
It’s not just about your skills, but how you choose to apply it. I could still be in a Spiritual church giving messages to women in their 80’s who have shown up for the last 1382 Sundays in a row or I could cross over the family that died in that house fire, help lift the mood of my suicidal friend and put a stop to the domestic abuse at number 36.
We weren’t put here for comfort, the Care Bears have that covered. We were put here to be the weapons our predecessors would be proud of.
